Lynda discovered Pilates later in life and was hooked after one session! She has always led a very active lifestyle but after decades in a corporate career, it had taken a toll on her wellness. After a couple months of Pilates, she noticed a decrease in chronic back pain, improved arthritic joint mobility, better posture, increased flexibility, muscle tone, and a stronger core. Lynda is excited to help others enjoy the benefits of practicing Pilates. She completed the Club Pilates Teacher Training program and is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). When not practicing Pilates, Lynda enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, boating, gardening, and walking her dachshunds.
Kalie initially got into Pilates in college, 2016, when she was looking for another way besides running to move her body. It quickly became her favorite way to complement her long distance running habits. In 2021, she started reformer Pilates with Cascade Pilates & this was a game changer. Pilates became the bread and butter of her exercise regimen. It helped her prepare for a marathon, childbirth, and was a stress relief from her day job. Kalie enjoyed Pilates so much she decided to make it her new day job! She leaped into the Balanced Body mat and reformer certification program last November, and is eager to share her favorite hobby with others! Outside of Pilates, Kalie enjoys getting fresh air with her toddler, running & forcing her husband to watch reality TV with her.
Pilates is a form of low impact exercise that trains the body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion - this helps with injury recovery & prevention, aging, sports performance, & optimal health. Pilates conditions the entire body while lengthening and strengthening to improve muscle elasticity and joint mobility.
Pilates is both a physical and mental workout. It is known to relieve stress, helps develop a greater mind-body connection, & creates more body awareness.
Benefits of Pilates
Athletes of all skill levels need additional training outside of their sport in order to perform their best and reduce the risk of injury. The skills used in Pilates can compliment any sport, and provide cross training to help improve skills in numerous ways.
Athletes tend to stress similar muscle groups because of repetitive movements – Pilates encourages muscle balance by working through full range of motion and building support in all layers of soft tissue.
